 Hello and welcome to Alpha Chi Omega's website!
My name is Amanda Devere and I am the current 2010 President of Alpha Chi Omega here at Cal Poly. For the last 32 years, our Epsilon Omega chapter has and continues to remain an integral part of the San Luis Opisbo community. Having been a member of this chapter for three years, my own life has been enriched by the fun, motivated, and powerful women in our house who each add certain uniqueness to Alpha Chi Omega.
It is through the love and devotion of its members to Alpha Chi Omega that our chapter has been able to prosper. I am so proud of the accomplishments we have achieved and the obstacles Alpha Chi Omega, as well as the Greek System at Cal Poly, have conquered with grace and integrity. From creating cookbooks for our local women's shelter, to collecting food for the families of battered women, Alpha Chi Omega strives to help the victims of domestic violence in our own San Luis Obispo Community. Our members are involved with clubs and their colleges on campus, hold positions on sports teams, and are proud representatives of Alpha Chi Omega at Cal Poly
The highlight of Alpha Chi Omega's year is our hosting of SLO Bowl, a Fraternity football tournament in which we raise money for our national philanthropy, The Alpha Chi Omega Foundation. As proud contenders for first place in philanthropy events hosted by other Fraternities, we are elated to be this year's TKE powderpuff and Alpha Gamma Rho's Buck-Off Competition champions!
Alpha Chi Omega sisters strike the perfect balance of fun and responsibility, as we have recently won the Cal Poly Academic Achievement Award for 2009 and have a cumulative GPA higher than the Cal Poly All-Women's Average. I challenge you to meet each one of our 120 women; they are bright, successful leaders and are well-worth knowing! Being a part of Alpha Chi Omega was the best decision I have made in my college career. My membership in such a positive organization has come to define who I am and I have met women who have changed my life forever. I have been given the honor of leading Alpha Chi Omega and am humbly thrilled to give back to it what it has given to me.
